I enjoyed running the business so much that after sixth form college, I decided to try to go full-time self-employed instead of going to university! These took off (relative to my hair bows at least!), and I decided to move them to their own shop - this one! Studio Chuffed opened on the 2nd of September 2016. It did surprisingly well, and I got a top grade on the project!ĭuring sixth form college, I branched out into bow ties. I launched my first business, Pixie Bluebell, as a high school project back in 2013! It sold hair bows. However, "Chuff" is also a reference to my first cat, who ended up being called "Chuff" since I couldn't pronounce "Mischief" (his original name) when I was little! And he was ginger, hence the orange branding! The name "Studio Chuffed" is a play on words - "Chuffed" is British slang, meaning "very pleased". Everything is designed by me, including the fabric I use for my bow ties! I also hand make all the bow ties and button badges. Studio Chuffed sells my pride-themed enamel pins, patches, stickers, and pre-tied bow ties. I run two businesses - Picnics & Poison, and this one, Studio Chuffed! Hi! I'm Charley! I'm a genderqueer (they/them), panromantic, asexual, neurodivergent designer-maker from the UK!
